Asylum seekers stranded in Indonesia

Indonesia unhappy with Australia’s tough asylum policy, which has caused thousands of people to remain on its territory.

Some asylum seekers in Indonesia are so desperate that they are giving themselves up to detention centres.

About 10,000 people from all over the world are stuck in the country because they are unable to get to their final destination, Australia.

The Indonesian government is unhappy with Australia’s policy of directly refusing asylum seekers who arrive by boat.
