Azerbaijan detains renowned rights activist

Government seizes Leyla Yunus’ passport while she was trying to attend a human rights conference in Brussels.

Azerbaijan has detained the country’s most celebrated human rights campaigner, Leyla Yunus.

She was attempting to travel to Brussels to attend a human rights conference, but was taken away for questioning and had her passport seized.
