Activists want new state in India’s northeast
Activists in Assam call for separate state known as Bodoland in advance of next round of national elections.

The sixth round of voting in the Indian elections is under way on Thursday. Voters in 117 constituencies in 11 states will be casting ballots.
One of those is Assam state, which has seen violence from armed groups seeking more autonomy. Demands for a separate state known as Bodoland are also growing louder.
