Amizagh look to regain language in Libya

Minority group, banned from practising its culture under Muammar Gadaffi, aims to relearn mother tongue in new Libya.

A minority group in Libya, known as the Amizagh, was banned from practising its culture under former leader Muammar Gaddafi.

Gaddafi outlawed the Amazigh people’s flag, any celebration of their culture and their mother tongue.

Members of the group are now looking to reconnect with their culture and language.

Al Jazeera’s John Hendren reports from Kabaw, Libya.
