Men kidnap 100 girls from Nigerian school

No one has claimed the kidnappings, but recent violence in the country has been blamed on Boko Haram.

Armed men have kidnapped more than 100 girls from a school in Chibok in northeastern Nigeria.

They were taken in a night raid in the latest violence that has been blamed on the group, Boko Haram.

Buildings were also burned and homes were destroyed in the village where the school is located.

While Boko Haram has not said it kidnapped the girls, it has been behind hundreds of attacks in the region over the past few years.

A bomb attack at the Nyana Bus station in the capital of Abuja killed scores of people on Monday.

Al Jazeera’s Yvonne Ndege reports from Abuja.
