India’s youth bloc flexes electoral muscle

Candidates target 100 million mostly young voters who are casting their ballots for first time in parliamentary polls.

About 100 million people are voting for the first time in India’s general elections, which are taking place over the next few weeks.

Most of those are adults who have only recently been able to register.

But the youth make up a powerful voting block and politicians have been doing all they can to win them over.
