UN report details Ukraine human rights abuses

Investigation urged into protesters’ deaths and authorities accused of harassing Ukrainians in Crimea.

The UN has released a report criticising the human-rights situation in Ukraine, saying there is evidence that the people in Crimea were harassed and arbitrarily arrested before the referendum last month.

The report also documents incidents of torture and ill-treatment of protesters during rallies which led to the unseating of President Viktor Yanukovich last year.
