Liverpool remembers Hillsborough victims

Tens of thousands honour the lives of 96 people, killed during one of English football’s darkest days.

It was Britain’s worst sporting tragedy when 96 men, women and children were crushed to death during a football match in 1989 in Sheffield.

Twenty-five years on, those lost Liverpool supporters have been remembered by tens of thousands of people at the club’s home ground.
Al Jazeera’s Barnaby Phillips reports.
