Japan to reopen nuclear plants

Three years after tsunami struck nuclear plants, government says it will switch them back on, despite opposition.

Three years after the Fukushima Daiichi disaster, Japan’s government says it will have to switch its nuclear reactors back on.

There is overwhelming public opposition to the move.

But the government says no other source of energy is as stable, safe and cost-effective.
