CAR refugees flee into neighbouring DRC

As the cycle of retaliatory violence continues to escalate in CAR, so does the number of people fleeing.

Violence between Muslims and Christians in the Central African Republic has forced hundreds of thousands of people from their homes.

Nearly a million have been displaced, and between 80 and 100,000 refugees have now fled to neighbouring countries.

Al Jazeera’s Malcolm Webb reports from the Democratic Republic of Congo.

Speaking to Al Jazeera from CAR’s capital city of Bangui, Barbara Manzi, the Senior Humanitarian Affairs Officer for the UN’s Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs discusses the refugee situation in the country.
