Obama on diplomatic push in Saudi Arabia
US president makes first visit in five years, hoping to mend relationship with key gulf ally following policy fall-outs.

The US president, Barack Obama, is in Saudi Arabia to visit with King Abdullah.
His goal is to calm what has become a difficult relationship for the usually strong allies.
When Obama decided to begin secret negotiations with Iran, no one told Saudi Arabia. And when the president asked Congress for permission to strike Syria, Saudi Arabia was caught off guard.
The US president has not visited Saudi Arabia for five years.
