Close race for Istanbul’s mayoral seat
Opposition Republican People’s Party hope to clinch top job in city which ruling AK Party have run for past 20 years.

In a tightly contested local government election, Turkey’s main opposition Republican People’s Party, is hoping to clinch Istanbul’s top seat.
The ruling Justice and Development Party has been running the city for the past 20 years, with incumbent mayor Kadir Topas seeking a third term in office.
