French appeals court to rule on ex-trader
Former Societe Generale employee made nearly $50bn in unauthorised trades in one of France’s biggest banking scandals.

France’s highest court of appeal is expected to rule on ex-trader Jerome Kerviel. The 37-year-old has spent more than three years fighting a jail sentence over massive market bets that almost brought a French bank to the brink of collapse.
