German defence minister seeks army reforms
Germany’s new defence minister says she wants the country’s armed forces to become more family-friendly.

Ursula von der Leyen is Germany’s first female defence minister, and is seen as a possible successor to Chancellor Angela Merkel.
She is calling for fewer rotations for soldiers serving in places such as Afghanistan, as well as a more flexible work schedule and more day care.
But some are questioning the move.
