China’s aviation industry takes flight
World’s fastest growing air-travel market struggles to recruit enough pilots and other staff to keep up with demand.

China is now home to the world’s fastest growing aviation industry. A 10 percent increase in air travel means 140 million more people in the air, which in turn means a steady supply of pilots, flight attendants and aircraft is needed to satisfy demand. But the country currently has a shortfall of about 10,000 pilots and is struggling to train new ones.
