New security measures worry Pakistanis

Activists says lifting of ban on death penalty could lead to hanging of people held on trumped up “terror” charges.

Civil society groups in Pakistan has been voicing concerns over government measures following the Peshawar school attack, which killed more than 130 children.

The warning followed a decision to lift a ban on executions for “terror-related” offences.

Rights activists say some of those convicted on terror charges are innocent.
