Uproar in India over ‘forced’ conversions
Shouting matches erupt in parliament as calls grow to stop ‘forced’ conversions of Christians and Muslims to Hinduism.

Politicians in India have protested against ‘forced’ conversions to Hinduism by nationalist groups.
They accuse right-wing Hindus aligned with the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of forcibly converting Christians and Muslims, and Prime Minister Narendra Modi of doing little to stop them.
The anger forced parliament’s upper house to be adjourned after the rival politicians descended into shouting matches.
