Plan to preserve Hong Kong protest symbols

Artworks created during two months of pro-democracy rallies in territory’s major districts may end up in galleries.

As protesters camped in major districts in Hong Kong for more than two months, they created several artworks that now symbolise their movement.

Umbrellas that were used to protect the protesters from tear gas became a symbol of dissent which activists plan to record and preserve in art galleries.

Al Jazeera’s Kim Venell reports.
