India steps up diabetes awareness campaign
With more than 65 million cases, diabetes costs the government billions of dollars in medical expenses and lost income.

About 65 million people in India suffer from diabetes. In addition to that, the country’s Diabetes Foundation warns that an estimated 50 percent of the urban population do not know how to prevent the illness.
Diabetes costs the government billions of dollars, ranging from medical expenses to lost income, and has stepped up its awareness campaigns in order to prevent it.
