Syrian Kurds face uncertain future in Iraq

Hundreds of Syrian Kurds seeking shelter in Iraqi Kurdistan face a bleak future in ‘tent cities’.

Syrian Kurds are continuing to stream into Kurdish areas of northern Iraq, as the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) continues its offensive across much of Syria.

Hundreds of Syrian Kurds fled the besieged Syrian town of Kobane finding refuge near Erbil, in an act that appears to be bringing the two embattled Kurdish communities closer.

But with fighting showing no sign of abating, many face an uncertain future in the ‘tent cities’.

Al Jazeera’s Charles Stratford reports from northern Iraq.
