Families of Haiti cholera victims sue UN

United Nations accused of introducing cholera to the island state killing at least 8,500 people.

Relatives of cholera victims in Haiti have brought the United Nations to court in the US.

They want the UN to pay damages for introducing cholera to their country in 2010, a disease that has killed more than 8,500 people.

The UN says it has immunity from lawsuits in the poverty-stricken country.
