ISIL pushed out of Kobane hilltop by Kurds

Kurdish forces aided by US air strikes force ISIL fighters to retreat from strategic hilltop near Syrian city.

Kurdish fighters in the Syrian city of Kobane, aided by US-led airstrikes, have apparently forced the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) to retreat from a strategic hilltop as the battle over the city continues.

Washington says days of heavy bombing by a US-led coalition has killed hundreds ISIL fighters in the area, which borders Turkey.
