The Israeli police force says three officers have been wounded in clashes with Palestinians near Al-Aqsa Mosque.
There have been protests there for days against restricted access to the holy site.
The area is revered by both Muslims and Jews, but sits in East Jerusalem, which is illegally occupied by Israel.
