CERN: celebrating 60 years of science

The European Organisation for Nuclear Research, the world’s biggest particle physics lab, turns 60.

Since it was founded in 1954, CERN, European Organisation for Nuclear Research, has brought together more than 10 thousand of the world’s top engineers and physicists. The result: one of the world’s most expensive, complex and successful science experiments.

Al Jazeera’s science reporter Tarek Bazley visited its facilities near Geneva, Switzerland.
