Dhaka municipal vote finally on horizon

The Bangladeshi capital has had no mayor since 2011, but a controversial plan to carve it in two could change that.

The Bangladeshi capital of Dhaka has not had an election for mayor in more than 10 years, mainly because the national ruling Awami League party refuses to hold a municipal vote it knows it will lose.
