UN tells Myanmar to investigate killings

Government told to probe reports of deaths of 48 Rohingya Muslims in Rakhine state, scene of repeated communal violence.

The UN has called on the government of Myanmar to investigate reports that up to 48 people from an ethnic minority group were killed earlier this month. It happened in a village in the western Rakhine state, where there has been repeated violence between Buddhists and Rohingya Muslims.
