Senegal dairy factory sustains tradition
Leveraging work of nomadic herders, local cooperative chips away at domination of imported powdered milk.

Nomadic cattle herders have travelled across Senegal for hundreds of years, but the country’s dairy industry is dominated by imported powdered milk.
One local company, La laiterie du Berger, is now trying to change that, producing dairy products from the milk collected by nomadic herders.
