Researchers at the University of North Florida’s shark biology programme intend to boost a limited supply of recorded scientific data on great whites by tagging “Katherine,” a white shark who is helping researches compile secrets about the predator.

Every time Katherine surfaces, the tag send a signal to a satellite, allowing anyone to go online and follow updates on Katherine and other great whites.

Al-Jazeera’s Julia Yarbough reports from Florida.
