The origins of Nigeria’s Boko Haram

Armed group that kidnapped more than 270 school girls has been in conflict with government for 12 years.

The Nigerian armed group Boko Haram has gained international notoriety after the kidnapping of more than 270 schoolgirls in northern Nigeria.

But the group has been a big problem for the Nigerian government for more than 12 years.
