Smog hangs heavy in coal-burning China
Pollution levels in the country have significantly exceeded the maximum safe limits, WHO says.

China is heavily dependent on burning fossil fuels, and many people in northern and eastern regions are experiencing hazardous levels of air pollution.
According to the World Health Organisation, pollution levels in China are about 30 times greater than the maximum safe limits.
