Kenyan town beset by al-Shabab worries
Garissa residents hope government’s response to Westgate Mall attack will help confront al-Shabab in their region.

The town of Garissa in northeastern Kenya has been marred by violence linked to the al-Shabab armed group for years.
Residents believe that al-Shabab used their region to test the strength of the country’s security forces.
Now they hope government’s response to the Westgate Mall attack in Nairobi will help the town of Garissa to bring the suffering to an end.
