Residents living in illegally constructed buildings will face eviction once new measures come into force.

A series of building collapse incidents in India has prompted the government to propose new measures to stop illegal constructions.

The independent regulator will also have the power to prosecute rogue builders.

But residents of the illegally constructed buildings will be left with consequences as they face eviction.
