US clean energy sites ‘harming environment’

Renewable energy sources like wind and solar have long been seen as a solution to global warming.
Policymakers argue replacing fossil fuels with clean energy will stem climate change.
But some people living in areas targeted for such projects, which are using vast swathes of land, say they are instead harming the environment.
