Jean-Marc Ayrault, France’s prime minister, has presented a new intelligence report which he says proves the Syrian regime did use chemical weapons.

Ayrault said France was “determined to take action against the use of chemical weapons by the regime of Bashar Assad and to dissuade it from doing so again”.

His comments came after a French intelligence report on Monday alleged that the Syrian regime launched an attack on August 21 that involved a “massive use of chemical agents”.
