Namibia drought sparks global warming debate
Country’s president says global warming could be responsible for disaster affecting nearly one million people.

The severe drought that is devastating Namibia has prompted questions over the potential influence of global warming in the disaster.
Namibia’s President Hifikepunye Pohamba believes climate change may be to blame for the drought in the country, which is currently hosting the United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification.
The government says nearly a million people, almost half the population, are in serious need of food aid.
