Philippine unrest takes high economic toll
Southern city’s chamber of commerce puts losses due to ongoing military standoff with rebels at $1bn every day.

Zamboanga, a city of more than 800,000 people, has been shut down for nearly two weeks due to a standoff between Muslim rebels and security forces.
The local chamber of commerce says economic losses in the area are running at $1bn every day of the siege.
