South Korea’s abandoned babies

Hundreds of babies stuck in orphanages due to stigma attached to single parenthood and adoption procedures.

Orphanages in South Korea have seen an increase in the number of abandoned babies they are having to look after.

The government’s efforts to cut foreign adotion and the pressures of parenting, combined with the stigma attached to being a single mother have role to play in the worsening of the situation.
