Residents in northern Spanish city can arrange almost their entire lives using digital technology.

Spain and in particular the city of Santander is getting smarter despite the recession.

The city is emerging as a prototype for high-tech cities around the world, as people living there can use digital technology to sort out their rubbish, shop, check bus times and arrange almost their entire lives.
