UN envoy meets Tamil war survivors

Survivors of the final phase of the Sri Lankan government’s war against the Tamil Tigers have met UN Human Rights Commissioner Navi Pillay.

They told her of their grief at the death or disappearance of many of their family members.

Pillay is in Sri Lanka to assess the government’s human rights record.
