Russia releases inmates to boost economy
President Putin wants to offer imprisoned businessmen amnesty to get them back to work.

Russian President Vladimir Putin is releasing some inmates from prison in an effort to boost the economy.
There are more than 100,000 prisoners serving time for crimes such as embezzlement and tax evasion.
Many of them are former business people and the government wants to offer some of them amnesty so that they can get back to work to and improve the country’s economic situation.
Al Jazeera’s Peter Sharp reports from Zelenograd.
