Japanese farmers reject free trade group

Farming lobby fears competition from cheaper food imports as government talks with Trans-Pacific Partnership.

For the first time, Japan is taking part in talks in the Trans-Pacific Parnership, or TPP, a free trade group of nations that Japan has resisted joining for years.
 
A strong Japanese farming lobby wanted no part of the partnership, fearing competition from cheaper food imports.
