Mexico City’s forests under threat

Government starts cracking down on illegal loggers to save capital’s rich flora and fauna.

More famous for smoggy skies and congestion, Mexico City is actually home to thousands of hectares of forest.

Now the race is on to protect its flora and fauna from illegal loggers that have been cutting down trees for years.

The Mexican government is cracking down on their operations, but locals say it is not enough.
