Rescuers rush in as floods strand Germans

Thousands of rescuers evacuate flood-hit Germans, but some still cut off.

At least sixteen people have now died and four others are missing in floods that have swept through central Europe.

Thousands of people have been evacuated in Germany alone, where rivers have burst through dams and walls of sandbags to flood towns and fields.

But while rescuers have helped those in the hardest-hit areas, some have said they yet to receive help.

Al Jazeera’s Nick Spicer reports from Deggendorf, in Bavaria, south-east Germany.
