The province of Palawan in the Philippines has been producing one of the world’s rarest pearls for generations.
The pearls are a great source of income for one of the country’s most underdeveloped areas.
However, pearl farmers in Palawan say both the sea’s level and the temperature have increased in recent years, conditions which have negatively affected their harvests.
Al Jazeera’s Jamela Alindogan reports from Palawan.
