Nepalis protest against child slavery

Children in Nepal – especially girls – are still sold to work as slaves.

Activists say that there are as many as 25,000 child bonded-labourers in Nepal.

In 2002, the government declared the practice illegal, but former bonded labourers are landless, and still hand over their daughters in return for access to land.
