Pesticides blamed for bee decline in Bosnia

Bee keepers blame crop chemicals for destruction of more than 500 bee communities in country’s south.

In the southern region of Bosnia and Herzegovina, there has been an incident of mass bee deaths which bee keepers are blaming on crop chemicals.

It is estimated that more than 500 bee communities have been destroyed so far, which is a loss of more than 25 million bees.

Meanwhile, the European Commission has endorsed a ban on the usage of three pesticides in the EU countries to better protect bee populations.
