Dozens of people have been killed in Bangladesh after supporters of a previously obsecure Islamic group clashed with the police.
Thousands of supporters of the Hifazat-e-Islam organisation thronged the main commercial district of the capital, Dhaka, calling for the institution of a blasphemy law.
The leaders of the organisation have dubbed the current government as atheist and said they would fight for restoration of faith in the constitution.
Al Jazeera’s special correspondent, whom we are not naming due to reporting restrictions, travelled to the headquarters of Hifazat located in the port city of Chittagong.
