Despite economic woes, finance minister opposes sale of nation’s famous natural resource to foreign investors.

Despite a faltering economy, Israel’s finance minister says he will block any attempt to sell one of the country’s most famous natural resources to foreign buyers.

Potash operations in the Dead Sea are worth $17bn, and while some say foreign ownership threatens revenue and jobs, others argue that overseas investment is essential.
