Fighting rages for strategic Afghan town
Hundreds of civilians flee Sangin in Helmand province after Taliban attack police checkpoints.

Hundreds of Afghan villagers are leaving their homes in Helmand province because of intense fighting between security forces and the Taliban.
Fighting has been going on in Sangin for several days after Taliban fighters attacked local police checkpoints.
But while many rush to escape the violence, some remain to protect their land from violence.
Al Jazeera’s Jennifer Glasse reports from Kabul.
