French opt for e-cigarettes but risks remain
Almost half a million people in France have turned to substitute but studies show it may be harmful to health.

Smokers in France are still reluctant to stub out cigarettes for good, despite all the evidence about how harmful they are to people’s health.
However, as they find it increasingly difficult to find a place to indulge their habit, an estimated at least half a million people have no turned to “electronic cigarettes”.
After studies found small traces of poisonous substances in the cigarette substitute, the French health minister has now ordered an investigation into the product.
